For CA practices

Your clients' books, returns and year-end — from one practice home.

KashGenie is where your clients bill, buy and keep stock, so the books you review are the books they keep — not a copy sent at month end. Your practice signs in once, opens any client, and sees where every client stands without opening them one by one.

What your practice gets

Built for the work a practice does every month

The practice's home sits above your clients' workspaces. Everything you do there happens in the client's own books, under the access the client gave you.

The practice dashboard

Every client in one table: books locked till, last entry, GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B for the last three months, 2B lines to match, uncleared bank lines, Rule 37 and late TDS.

A compliance calendar

What falls due for each client — GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, CMP-08, GSTR-4, GSTR-9, TDS deposits and returns, advance tax and the ITR — and the firm's own task list, with who has how much work.

Bulk work across clients

Tick the clients, or drop a pile of 2B files, and start one job: the server does the month's repetitive work for each client and hands back one zip.

Review and adjustments

Go through a period with review marks, post the accountant's adjustments, and lock the period; the owner approves before a locked month is opened again.

Questions and documents

Ask about an entry or a missing bill right where it sits; the client answers from the phone with a photo or a PDF. Ask for documents, such as September's bank statement, with a date.

One sign-in, many businesses

Sign in once and move between your practice's home, any client and your own firm's books, without signing in again.

Returns

Every return worked out from the books

KashGenie prepares the figures and the files; you check them and file on the portal. Filing status is kept for every return, so the dashboard knows what is done.

  • GSTR-1 with the JSON to upload, including exports, amendments and debit notes
  • GSTR-3B from the books, with the Rule 37 reversal for bills unpaid past 180 days
  • GSTR-2B matching: lines matched, differing and missing, before credit is claimed
  • CMP-08 and the annual GSTR-4 for composition dealers, and QRMP
  • The annual GSTR-9, and the GSTR-9C working for turnover above the limit
  • TDS deducted and deposited, with what is late; more than one GSTIN per business

Year-end

The year closed in the same books

  • Balance sheet and profit and loss in the Schedule III layout, or a simpler vertical one
  • Notes drafted from the books, last year beside each figure, the signature block, as PDF and Excel
  • Tax audit helpers for Form 3CD, the income-tax depreciation chart and the MSME split of payables
  • Balance confirmations for customers and suppliers, sent from the books as on the date you choose
  • Partners of a firm: capital and current accounts, the profit sharing, interest and section 40(b)
  • The year closed with profit carried forward, and the old year still there to read and print

Access

The client decides what you can do

Your client invites your practice and chooses the level. People from your practice never use one of the client's seats, are shown as the practice's wherever an entry's author is shown, and are shut out on their next request if the client withdraws.

View only

Every report and every screen to read — enough to review the books and prepare the returns.

Books

View only, plus journal entries, ledgers and locking a period: the usual level for a practice that closes the books.

Full bookkeeping

Books, plus sales, purchases, accounts, stock and the masters: for a practice that keeps the client's books for them.

At no level can a practice manage the client's users, subscription or data export, or use the counter.

Bringing clients in

From Tally or a spreadsheet to KashGenie in an afternoon

  1. 1

    Set the client up

Create the client's workspace for its owner, or accept the owner's invitation to their existing one.

  2. 2

    Bring the masters in

Parties with GSTIN, state and address, and stock items with HSN, unit and rate, straight from Tally.

  3. 3

    Bring the balances in

The opening trial balance from Tally or a spreadsheet, with the ledger mappings remembered for next time, and bill-wise opening balances.

  4. 4

    Apply your templates

Keep your practice's templates and apply them to each new client, so every client starts the way you work.

Questions

What practices ask us

Does my client need to be on KashGenie?

Yes — that is the point: the client bills, buys and keeps stock in KashGenie, and you work in the same books. A practice can also set a client up and run the books for them.

Can I see all my clients together?

Yes. The practice dashboard shows every client's books, GST, bank and TDS position in one table, and the compliance calendar shows what falls due for each of them.

Does KashGenie file returns on the portal?

No. It works out the figures and gives you the JSON or the workbook laid out like the portal; you check them and file. It records that a return has been filed, so the dashboard and the calendar stay right.

Can I bring clients across from Tally?

Yes. Masters and the opening trial balance come in from Tally or a spreadsheet, and your mappings are remembered. Vouchers can also go back out to Tally if somebody still works there.

What does a practice pay?

Your clients have their own plans. A practice that sets clients up and pays for them can do so from its own account — ask us about practice plans.

Can I also earn as a partner?

Yes. A practice can join the partner programme and earn commission on clients it brings to KashGenie.
