Why KashGenie
Why businesses move to KashGenie
Most shops keep accounts in a register, a spreadsheet, or a desktop package bought years ago. Here is the honest comparison.
| Everything the shop needs, in one place | Register or Excel | Old desktop package | KashGenie |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raising a bill | By hand, and the GST is your arithmetic | Quick, if you are sitting at that one computer | Quick, from any machine or phone |
| Knowing what is owed | Added up whenever somebody remembers | A report somebody has to go and run | On the home screen, oldest first |
| The GST return | Your CA retypes it from your bills | An export, and then corrections | Made from the bills, in the portal's own format |
| Two people working at once | Not really | A second licence, and a network to set up | Included, and everyone sees the same figures |
| If the computer dies | The register is the only copy there is | Whatever backup somebody remembered to take | Nothing lives on the computer; backed up nightly |
| Getting your data out | Type it again | Often a paid export | Excel or Tally, whenever you want, free |
What it does not do
Worth knowing before you start, rather than after.
- It is not payroll. Salaries, PF and ESI are somebody else's job, and we would rather say so than do it badly.
- It does not file the return for you. It makes the return; a person still presses submit on the portal.
- It is not free forever. There is a trial, then a yearly fee - which is why we will still be here in five years.
